Your Coach
First Impression Career Coaching exists to empower women to live the careers/lives of their dreams. It is a professional organization that provides career coaching (including career exploration, job search mechanics and assessments) to women, as individuals or groups, who are looking to increase their overall career management skills.
Our organization is based on the Life Purpose of its Career Coach, Kathy Larrabee. Kathy has trained with the Career Coach Institute, and has her Associate Career Coach Certification. She has over 8 years of workforce development experience, and has learned to manage her career based on her Authentic Vocation™ and has a passion to help other women do the same.
She founded, The First Impression Career Closet in 2005, in response to a need she saw in her community of Monroe County, Pennsylvania – the second fastest growing county in the state. The First Impression Career Closet is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides professional clothing and interview readiness education to low-income women who are transitioning into the local workforce.
As Workshop & Orientation Coordinator of the Careerlink of Monroe County, Kathy has designed and presented a variety of career exploration and job search mechanics seminars. Kathy has presented these seminars to various hard-to-serve populations including Welfare-To-Work participants, dislocated workers, learning disabled students and physically/mentally challenged job seekers.
She created the Careerlink Career Closet in 2002, which provides blazers and business suits to job seekers. In 2003, she also created a Job Club, where job seekers can share experiences, discuss and brainstorm job search techniques and network with others.
In addition to her work with The First Impression Career Closet and the Careerlink of Monroe County, Kathy has served on the Board of Directors of Pocono Services for Families & Children (Head Start) and the Pocono Area Branch of The American Association of University Women (AAUW), where she chaired Sister-To- Sister Summits and the Transitions for Women Conference. Her previous careers have included: advertising, media planning, public relations and sales.
